Known for his philanthropic works and love for humanity, Nana Tea, as popular known in the media space has been nominated alongside some other persons by Pulse Ghana to contest for the FACEBOOK INFLUENCER OF THE YEAR award.
According to Pulse Ghana, the award scheme seeks to recognize hard-working individuals who are using social media to cause positive change in society. “On Facebook, we’re recognizing individuals with a knack for pooling people together and using the tools available on this platform to build and establish relationships and strong, large communities, sharing valuable content and causing change.”
Considering the objective of this award scheme, it is evident that Nana Tea is one of the most deserving contenders if not the most deserving. Over the years, he has changed the lives of some individuals tremendously using Facebook as his main medium.
Mad. Gladys, a physically challenged hawker who went from being on the streets to securing a scholarship to study fashion designing and owning a fashion shop, Mr. Ayongo Madi Yahaya, a young man who was able to enroll in a Teacher Training School (Abetefi Presbyterian College of Education) and a head porter, locally referred to as “Kayayo” who also got a life-changing opportunity to enroll in Damango Nursing Training College are some of the recent beneficiaries of Nana Tea’s philanthropic activities.
Undoubtedly, these are truly remarkable deeds that deserve recognition not only from Pulse Ghana but also from every well-meaning Ghanaian. Although the winner of this award will be based strictly on the number of votes a nominee is able to pull, Nana Tea believes he is and will continue to be a winner regardless of the outcome.
Asked what his thoughts on the awards were, Nana Tea said; “Awards are great and winning this would make me very happy, however being able to put smiles on the faces of those in need will always make me happier.”
Despite some nominees registering their displeasures concerning some discrepancies in the voting results so far, voting is still ongoing and continues till the 21st of September.
We wish all nominees well.
