Worawora Senior High School once again has shown that they are leading in STEM education when it comes to senior high schools in Ghana. Members of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Innovation club, also known as the “STEMNNOVATION” club have built a water fountain for their school.
This was not solely created by members of the STEMNNOVATION, they were assisted by the Visual Arts Department who also took up the design and cement works.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Master Moses Kugbe, School Prefect of Worawora SHS, said STEMNNOVATION has advanced and is helping improve the quality of life of people across the world.
He believes the introduction of STEM into the curriculum of SHS is highly commendable and should be encouraged in all schools.
He further appealed to the government and other agencies for support. “We are inviting the Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Adu Twum to visit Worawora SHS to familiarise himself with our inventions, we are also asking that the Ministry provide funding to enable the STEM INNOVATION team to construct a Fountain in front of the Ministry and if allowed to replicate one at the Jubilee House.”
This is not the first invention of the school, the students have previously built a smart drip irrigation system, a soil moisture detector, and a solar light and charging system.
