Following the demise of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known in the music industry as Mohbad, allegations have come out from many angles pointing accusing fingers at Naira Marley for supposedly being the one behind the death of the singer.
Mohbad was a signee of Marlian Records, a record label that belongs to Naira Marley but left the label in 2022. Reasons for leaving were undisclosed but it’s obvious he did so because he was no longer satisfied by the terms and conditions that came with being with the record label.
Shortly after parting ways with the label, many videos of Mohbad emerged on the internet where he made claims that he was being sabotaged and threatened by Naira Marley and some members of his record label. Unfortunately, these were seen and treated as mere allegations and nothing serious.
Sadly, the young and vibrant artiste lost his life under very strange circumstances on 12th September 2023. Social media has since been set ablaze with more people accusing Naira Marley of being behind his death. Although Naira Marley and the Marlian label have come out to delay the allegations through a released statement, the public does not seem to accept their explanations.
As of now, many individuals and even some industry players have come out to demand justice for the deceased. Notably among them is Tonto Dike, who is using her voice to push for justice to be served. A petition is being signed on the internet for Marlian records to be banned which thousands of individuals have signed so far. Also, people are advocating for Naira Marley to be unfollowed by his followers on all social media platforms, interestingly, Naira Marley has lost thousands of followers at the moment.
But is he really guilty?
Mohbad Imole was born on June 8, 1996. Before rising to fame, he used to work as a carpenter. He was best known for his singles “Ponmo, Feel Good”, and “KPK (Ko Por Ke)” (You Will Always Be Remembered) with Rexxie which was nominated three times for The Headies Awards 2022.
He left behind a wife and a five-month-old son. May his soul rest in peace.
