Dela Anim, a young resident of Nungua has displayed a high level of integrity and honesty in an era where financial struggles seem to be the order of the day. The gentleman has returned an undisclosed amount of money which is believed to be more than Ghc100,000 to authorities.
Speaking to Adom FM, an Accra-based radio station, Mr. Anim disclosed the circumstances surrounding how he found the money.
According to him, he got into a taxi heading towards Abossey-Okai, a suburb of Accra when he chanced on a black polythene bag in the back seat where he was. Out of curiosity, he decided to open it, to his amazement, the rubber contained lots of cedi notes.
He said his first instinct was to alert the driver but upon second thought, he decided to keep it from him since he could not trust the driver.
He then took the rubber and its contents to Adom FM which he believed was the right place to go. On his arrival, the money was counted and he was surprised to learn that it was over Ghc 100,000. An identification card was also found in the bag containing the money.
Asked why he didn’t bolt with the money, Mr. Anim revealed that his values as a firm Christian did not permit him to do so.
Interestingly, he used to own a transportation business but is no longer in business because it has collapsed therefore leaving him unemployed.
